Mayjel Wildesen was the winner of two West Virginia University football tickets awarded on September 29th at the 411 Parent Rally. She and 37 other adults gathered at Southern High School to learn about common trends and threats that youth are facing. Major Bryson Meyers and Southern High School’s Resource Officer DFC Joe Casey shared information about drug threats that are common in Garrett County. Staff from the Garrett County Health Department had a mock teen bedroom set up for adults to browse through and look for the telltale signs that a teen might be experimenting with or regularly using drugs. Pictured presenting Mrs. Wildesen with her WVU football tickets is Linda Costello, Prevention Specialist with the health department. Anyone interested in attending a similar presentation is invited to the Get the 411 on Drugs: Parent Rally on November 15th at 6 pm in the Northern High School cafeteria in Accident.
